El sendero nos lleva a través de bosques nubosos, zonas alto andinas y la selva subtropical, recorre por varios sitios arqueológicos de extraordinaria belleza desde donde se puede tener vistas impresionantes del paisaje y los valles circundantes. Este camino fue utilizado por los antiguos peruanos en su peregrinación a la ciudadela Inka.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Chilca – Wayllabamba (L) (D)

We will leave the hotel very early in the morning to take the bus to the village of Chilca, where we will begin our hike.
After a three-hour walk, we will stop to have lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Inca complex of Llaqtapata , and will camp in Huayllabamba. Dinner and night in the camp.
Difficulty level: Moderate / Duration of the hike: 6-7 hours / Total distance: 11 km.

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo (B) (L) (D)

After breakfast, we will start climbing until we reach the first pass, Warmiwañusca, at about 4,200 masl. From there, not only will we have amazing views of the whole area, but we will also have the satisfaction to have reached the peak. After lunch, we will go down towards Pacaymayo to camp and have dinner.
Difficulty level: Normal / Duration of the hike: 2 hours / Total distance: 4 km.

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Phuyu Patamarka – Wiñay Huayna (B) (L) (D)

After breakfast, we will start going down as far as the second most important pass of our trip, at 3,800 masl. We will go on a guided tour to the Runku Rakay archaeological complex and the Inca fortress of Sayacmarca, before continuing towards Phuyu Patamarka (village in the clouds), where we will stop to have lunch. After a short rest, we will start walking again to Wiñay Huayna (Always Young), where we will visit the remains. Dinner and night at the camp.
Difficulty level: Normal / Duration of the hike: 6 hours / Total distance: 10 km.

Day 4: Wiñay Huayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)

After breakfast, we will take a walk, an hour long, through the forest, to the Gateway of the Sun (Inti Punku), from where we will have a stunning view of the fortress. Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu, guided tour of the fortress, to visit its main appeals and structures, the main square, the circular tower, the sacred sundial, the royal living quarters, the three-windowed temple, and the cemeteries. Free time to have a walk through the fortress, before meeting the rest of the goup and being transfered by bus to Aguas Calientes to have lunch (not included). In the afternoon, trip back to Cusco by train. Transfer to your hotel.
